Strategic Planning Coaching Tip - Plan Is Not A Dirty Four Letter Word

Many business people have a very bad attitude about strategic planning, although they believe the strategy is probably a good thing. This is consistent that most people do not plan their lives less lonely activity. Plan is really a dirty 4 letter word hidden.

But before the plan of speech is the word strategy. So, what is the strategy?

The origins of this word means, literally, for a general to think out and defeat his enemies. In today's corporate world, which means to think and survive the competition.

The strategy is a thought process that begins with an intense vision of the business owner or manager. This is the first step, because as the old Chinese proverb:

Vision without action is a daydream, but action without vision is a nightmare.

Follows what are the acceptable and unacceptable behaviors within your organization. Many organizations fail because they are not acceptable behaviors are allowed and sometimes even supported by the leadership. Remember the old Do as I say, not as I do mantra from parents, the teacher to boss?

After careful analysis of all the industry to economic trends, organizational structure and the target market, then the mission is built. For some who do not have the resources of time, money and energy, the mandate of the mission may be simply how much money you want in your bank account by 31 December of the planning?

As part of the strategic plan also reside critical success factors or categories of growth objective. A critical success factor is defined as that which is necessary and sufficient to accomplish the mission. For many companies, are 6 basic categories Action Plan: financial, growth and innovation (new products), customer loyalty, leadership and management, marketing and sales.

Each of these categories can be further expanded to target their action plans. The objectives are the priority. These action plans are in the business plans that you share with various departments such as sales, marketing, budgeting, etc.

Acting to think of your strategic plan and action plans to others. If the plan is to rest in your desk drawer or shelf and you visited months if not years ago, dust off and review it. Remember a strategy does not work when not executed .......
